We all long for light, to bask in the warmth of the rays, to find deep and lasting rest for our souls. That is available to all of us - right now and always - no matter the circumstances or the season. Thankful to be at “rest” despite the storms for the first time in my life.

This has been a season of adversity, a season where God has been refining my character, where he’s been lovingly and patiently teaching me obedience, teaching me the sound of his voice, and holding my hand as he walks me through valleys. He’s been surrounding me with the loving light of His presence and reminding me that those who walk with Him are never in darkness. Im choosing to worship in this space, to trust in his amazing love and celebrate all the gifts . . . and there are many.

I’m beyond blessed to have sisters in Christ who are walking with me, who are praying and are sacrificing their time and energy to support me and the ones so love. @shawnapage3of3 , I so appreciate and love you. Thank you for the cross country trek, for spending a brief morning exploring God’s colorful and amazing creation.

My wish is for all of you not to “know” the love of Jesus but to E X P E R I E N C E Him, to experience the healing power of his love. Thank you to @amyzakrajsek and Shawna for our daily Marco Polos and to @mimiwhite1220 my “wonder” twin and sister for our daily talks ❤️

Tips and Tricks:
1. Sometimes too many shelves, visually clutter the space. In this instance, I had one shelf removed, and then equally staggered the remaining.
2. When styling large shelves, remember that large scale items are better - too many small scale items are very distracting.
3. Stick with a cohesive color palette! In this case, I used a lot of neutrals and a pop of navy as the room color palette is pretty serene, and the main accent color is navy blue.
4. Always choose items of varying height, texture, shape, and color
5. Try to work in a diagonal! As you can see things are strategically located in diagonals you never have a book next to a book! They are staggered diagonally on shelves!

I’ve been thinking about beautiful spaces a lot lately. And the thing is . . . on earth they are temporary.
We all long for beautiful home, for a space where we can rest, create, live, and be surrounded by joy and peace. We can have that here . . . but it’s limited and ephemeral. Our true home is eternal. I’m more worried about making my insides beautiful now and spending more time refining my heart with God than obsessing about my home and trends. Because of this - I’m healing in a way that I never thought possible. ✝️ for by grace you are saved through faith and this is not of your own doing but a gift from God ❤️✝️🥳

I snapped this pic of my sweet cat, Macchiato, resting and unconcerned about life. It amazes me that our precious animals seem to understand life better than we do at times. In my life . . . I’ve never rested - not truly. I’ve spent years relying on myself, and it has made me very ill. I will recover, God will restore my health . . . But in His time. Not mine. I don’t think I’m ready just yet. He knows I have a tendency to run ahead of Him, and I never want to do that again. He’s teaching me absolute reliance. It’s not easy to exist in a space where I’m feeling so ill, but with Him? It’s bearable. He is my strength and refuge. I’m. O longer navigating life on my own strength. I understand to some degree why this has happened to me and that I must hold tightly to His hand and follow where He leads me. Rest is not simply sleep, it’s resting as a child would. Laying down all of your anxious thoughts, knowing that God is in charge and you don’t have to be. I am going to be meditating on this verse this week. Thank you to @iamcoachhaley and @kindred.kitchen for hosting me, for giving me a place to rest.

Divine is always in design - this office by @alexadamsondesign is exquisite. I’m a storyteller and gifted with words as well as an interior designer. God led me to these things - there’s a story behind both of these careers and I can’t wait to tell it. They are my spiritual gifts- and I’m only beginning to realize the impact this could have. My deepest desire is to share the love of God - and that’s going to be in doing what I was meant to do. Writing and design.
